Eustacia is a generalist... her turf is the whole, sweeping countryside of rotten system design. I'm not only talking about computers here. I'm talking about that horrible feeling you get every time you see something being done in some back-asswards, half-assed, deeply inefficient, usually annoying way... and you know that the only reason for it is that somebody was too fucking lazy to think about how it should work.
Eustacia does spend a lot of her time with computers, because people get away with murder with computers. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've seen people plodding along in useless drudgery because "the system doesn't do that". Is "that" anything the system can't do? No. It's something that some "computer professional" was too lame to think of, or too incompetent to implement.
Computer security is fertile ground for Eustacia. I wish I had a dime for every stupid, annoying "security" system I've seen that didn't actually improve security. There's the "leave it out of the menu" school of security... works great for about a week. There's the "ignore the whole issue" school... works until somebody deletes everything. Outshining both of them, though, is the "ignore the main risk" school. Ever have to deal with a system where everything was a pain in the butt because one part had been heavily fortified... while the soft underbelly was left exposed? I sure have, and it really peeves me.
And what about other stuff? Does anybody actually design systems there? Hell, no. Look at traffic engineering. Look at fucking cable TV installation. Look at anything. It all sucks. You just can't get good help these days. I feel ill...
